Abraquest 2.9.5.0 is here

Abraquest 2.9.5.0 is here. Some new features for everyone, but please be sure to have your licence key to hand before updating, because it will ask for it.

This latest release of Abraquest is very much a maintenance release. It will ask for .NET 4.6.2 to be installed (if it does you should contact your IT support). Also we think we have finally fixed the bug where on some systems Abraquest asks you to re-enter the licence key. Please email us if you don't have your licence key to hand.

New features:

You can now record payments for lost books.

Teacher Issue/Returns - if you try to issue a book that hasn't been recorded as returned, it prompts you rather than forces you to click the Returns tab and then back to Issues.

There are numerous minor changes. In particular we have expanded the options in Base Data -> Configuration options, so that more options are turned off by default. This simplyfies Abraquest because it removes option you never ever need or use. If you have something that you used which dissappears with this release, please log in as sysadmin1 and go to Configuration options on the Base Data menu, its very likely we will have the option in here.

For example, if your school uses Tutor Groups, Abraquest has always been able to handle it, but now we have an option that lets you call tutor groups "tutor groups" rather than "class".

We recommend all customers upgrade to this release as soon as you can, that way you are in a good position to recieve upcoming releases this year.

Abraquest 3.0 is coming

We have been listening very carefully to our school librarians needs. Abraquest 3.0 will have around half a dozen more extremely useful new features that should appeal to all customers, including a GDPR compliant feature to remove data if requested.

For customers not on Abraquest Software Assurance, the cost will be £199.95 + VAT to upgrade. Abraquest Software Assurance customers as always will receive it for free. So if you are not on Abraquest Software Assurance, now would definitely be a good time to reconsider.

Any comments? As always please contact us using your preferred method.
